Trump a la Simpsons - Uncanny

The dude who made this video should take his own advice and do a little research. So, as he says, there's two Trump presidential references in the Simpsons. One is from 2015 and is obviously referencing Trump's 2015-2016 campaign. There's an earlier reference from 2000 in the episode Bart to the Future, where Trump is mentioned but not depicted. The video-maker suggests that dark forces are at work providing hints of the future well in advance.

So, Bart to the Future was a 2000 episode, airing in March 2000. An episode of the Simpsons is recorded about 5 months before it airs, with the animation process taking the majority of the time. This means that writing and edits for this episode would have been happening up to around October 1999. Guess who announced their first run at the presidency in October 1999? So since Trump running for President (or rather, running for the Reform Party presidential candidacy) was in the news, the 2000 reference to a Trump presidency is also merely a topical reference.

Sorry if the lack of uncanny prophecy in a once-popular cartoon is disappointing, but we are fully in the realm of the prosaic, explicable and quotidian here.

The 9/11 hint was from an episode 4 years before the event, but yeah.. this was definitely 2015. So many people posting this on Facebook.

There is also and "Ebola Virus" hint in one I didn't check into that though.

I was more intrigued by the comparisons in the footage of Trump heading down the stairs/escalator.

Coincidence? If not, why would a politician attempt to mimic what has occurred in a cartoon?

The 'ebola virus' 'hint' is from 1997. Ebola was big news in 1995 with an outbreak in Zaire that was very well reported and a best-selling and massively influential book called The Hot Zone released that same year, which was all about ebola and related viruses. The 'hint' isn't a hint, it's another topical joke.

The scenes are actually from a promotional short called Trumptastic Voyage put out by Fox to promote season 25. This was uploaded to YouTube on 7th July 2015.

The Trump video is from 16th June, which is three weeks before the Simpsons parody.

Thus causality and the arrow of time are preserved.
