Songs that make you cry
#11
I love musics ability to transport you back to a moment in time the spice girls song posted above reminds me so much of when my daughter was growing up the spice girls were her world for about a year and i was subjected to listening to thier album non stop on every car journey, watching her and her friends recreate every dance move from the vidoes and osmotically absorbing every song th the point last year in the middle of a shopping trip a spice girls song came on we both broke into a full blown recreation of the song with dance moves in the middle of top shop much to the amusement of the shoppers and staff and received a round of applause much to our embarrassment

I only knew this song from singing it from a song sheet at a very special place I went to as a child..broke my heart when I heard it on the radio for the first time years later (loving the woman with her chin in her glass at 0.56)

blew my mind when I first heard this during horrific teenage angst times

Funny how much those spice girls feature in this thread!
2 hardened drug addicts would drive to london to make money every weekend when this was in the charts & well up whenever it came on the radio in the car
This.....is real life

Saw The Aliens ( aka The Beta Band in a former life ) play this live to about 200 people at The Faversham in Leeds on the Luna tour, just Gordon on keyboards singing his heart out. It was heartbreakingly beautiful. Genuinely brought tears to my eyes, has done on occasion since remembering it. Cracking band, deserve to be much better known. Serious musos, all feel. Amazing.

For me definitely The Scientist by Coldplay. Has personal meaning.

Also, Wires by Athlete. Such a sad story behind the song.
