Yeah, I use It as well. It is THE source for rare music. Rules?never noticed any rules :) but this is the place I GET all My Music from, from 1920's Proto-rap , Krautrock to the latest Goa and psy-trance.

Glad you agree, it's amazing what you can find there. I guess by rules I mean  etiquette.  Some people have a tendency to deny your requests if you aren't sharing your library and some want to see a library of a minimum size before letting you have access to theirs. In some ways that's a pain but then again I think that goes a long way to explaining the extraordinary rarities that can be found.

Probably not the place to go if you're a Now That's what I call an approximation of music 2789 kind of guy but if you are a collector of quality non charty euro pop then it's  brilliant.

use the Opera browser to get around all that. If you use their caching service for slow connections, used to be called turbo boost but I think the names changed now, all your browser traffic goes through Opera's proxy caching servers. Opera has no issues with those sites and lets you in right away. Opera is a legitimate well established company, their proxies are fine to use.

They released the piratebrowser for this purpose which uses TOR. Never tried it so what it's like I don't know.

Looks interesting. I'd imagine it would be slower no maybe a bit more obvious what you're up to. I thought torrents over Tor were frowned upon?

Well that only routes the browser over TOR, not your entire connection liike the TOR brow0esr bundle. This is only for getting access to the blocked sites, not for the actual downloading of the files so use your regular browser for everything else. Pretty sure it's a portable program (certainly available as one if not usually)  so no need to even install it.

To access the blocked sites funnily enough just using a third party DNS gets around the BT block of KAT for me at the moment. Change your DNS servers to 8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4 (nothing dodgy, this is Google's DNS service) then reboot your computer. I can access https://kat.cr/ without a proxy on BT Broadband right now.

The measures they can reasonably take against these sites is pathetic and if someone has worked out how to download via bittorrent and has used google before is gonna be downloading them torrents again pretty soon.
